WE ARE A GOOD SCHOOL
OFSTED 2019
WE ARE A CHURCH SCHOOL LIVING UP TO OUR CHRISTIAN FOUNDATION
SIAMS INSPECTION 2024
We are delighted to attach a copy of our latest Ofsted report following our visit by OfSTED in March 2019.
The school is very proud to maintain our grading of ‘Good’ which demonstrates the progress of the school under a tougher inspection framework.
A very comprehensive report of the recent visit by Heather Hawkes, Ofsted Inspector. Mrs Hawkes spent a very rigorous and concentrated day in our school visiting lessons, reviewing information about the school and talking to children, staff, governors and parents.
It clearly identifies the central role that the children play in our school and how their behaviour and attitude towards school is central to our ethos, vision and atmosphere.
- (The school provides) a stimulating environment within a Christian ethos where pupils can become confident learners.
- (The school has a) commitment to improving learning opportunities so that pupils can achieve their very best.
- …the quality of education continues to improve.
- Pupils told me that this is a friendly school where everyone feels welcomed. They enjoy their learning. Pupils told me that ‘they learn in a fun way’ and that ‘teachers are really good at helping you learn things in different ways.
- (Pupils) try hard, cooperate well with each other and are keen to do well. Their behaviour reflects the values that the school actively seeks to promote.
- Parents and carers value the school’s caring ethos. They feel that their children are taught well and that children are ‘challenged and well looked after’.
- Members of the governing body know the school well and with the support of the academy trust, provide (the school) with appropriate challenge and support…they demonstrate a strong commitment to improving the school further.
The inspector highlighted the excellent care and provision in our on-site nursery for 2,3 and 4 year olds. We are now accepting admissions for September for 15 and 30 hour childcare. Please contact the school for more details.
SIAMS Inspection 2024
This recent inspection report evidences that, not only is Morton CE Primary School providing a high quality of education but through its theologically rooted, Christian vision, the provision is effective in enabling all pupils to flourish. The report reads:
The Christian vision is carefully thought through by leaders and governors to ensure that it is right for Morton. It supported and is grown by the vision of the Lincoln Anglican Academy Trust (LAAT). As a result, staff are inspired by the biblical example of Christ’s love and compassion for everyone. They draw on the core values of respect, believe, enjoy and achieve as a way to build strong relationships.
The journey of our wonderful school has been so very exciting, and we thank all stakeholders for their support. Our whole staff team were highlighted for well-deserved praise:
Staff live out the vision by diligently serving pupils and families at Morton…..Staff work above and beyond to strive for the best provision for every pupil.
Morton School really is at the very heart of the community, and we are immensely proud of the links we have beyond our school building. Collective worship was celebrated:
Collective worship has a significant impact on the school's ethos, especially on the positive relationships that arise as a consequence. This is because worship is framed in a joyful and engaging experience.
Our school would not be the special place it is without the continued drive, commitment and unwavering support of you, our well-respected parents and carers and the resilience and determination of your wonderful children.
The Christian vision ensures that the mental health and wellbeing of pupils is a priority. …. Leaders help families to work with external agencies, making sure pupils benefit from a curriculum that is ambitious for them. The impact is relationships are restored by living out the Christian values of forgiveness and love.
We give thanks also to the governors, Rev Neil Bullen and Wendy Sharman (Bishop’s Visitor) who are all very valued members of our school community:
Committed governors provide support and take pride in being the guardians of the school’s Christian character. They regularly evaluate the impact of the vision and systematically check how the vision drives the school's priorities.
Our curriculum and the impact it has on children was praised:
The curriculum encourages pupils to flourish in their learning and to use knowledge wisely. This reflects the school’s vision of achieving anything in life’s journey. The ambitious curriculum is supported in its development by the trust and focuses on growing the talents of each pupil.
