    Our School Vision

At Morton CE Primary School, we believe that our school is the place where our children will grow and flourish with nurture and encouragement. We have the passion to enable every child to achieve anything in their life journey. As part of the Christian family, we follow Jesus’ examples and teachings; as we respect, believe, enjoy and achieve as a collective school family.

    Vision, Values and Ethos
  • “Pupils at this school thrive.” The school has high aspirations for all pupils to do their very best. Staff understand what pupils need to succeed, both academically and pastorally.

    OFSTED February 2025
  • “Staff create a climate for learning that enables all pupils to feel safe and take risks.” One pupil, who shares the views of many, explained, “Teachers get our activities just right. We get to think hard, but not too hard.”

    OFSTED February 2025
  • The Christian vision ensures that the mental health and wellbeing of pupils is a priority. …. Leaders help families to work with external agencies, making sure pupils benefit from a curriculum that is ambitious for them. The impact is relationships are restored by living out the Christian values of forgiveness and love.

SIAMS Church School Inspection February 2024
  • “Lessons are tailored to meet the needs of all pupils, and activities stimulate pupils’ curiosity. As a result, pupils achieve exceptionally well.”

    OFSTED February 2025
  • Children in the early years have an exceptional start to their school life. Routines and expectations are quickly established.

    OFSTED February 2025
  • The curriculum encourages pupils to flourish in their learning and to use knowledge wisely. This reflects the school’s vision of achieving anything in life’s journey.

Outdoor Learning in EYFS – Where Curiosity Comes to Life!

  • 4 May 2026

Outdoor Learning in EYFS – Where Curiosity Comes to Life! Last week our reception class visited 'The Conker Club' for a fantastic day of outdoor learning. Through outdoor play, our youngest learners are encouraged to explore, investigate and be curious about the world around them. Whether they are building, digging, climbing or observing nature, every moment is rich with opportunity. What skills are developed through outdoor play? *Communication and language through shared play and storytelling *Physical development through climbing, balancing and exploring *Problem-solving and critical thinking as children test ideas and take risks *Creativity and imagination in open-ended environments *Resilience, confidence and independence We recognise that play is a powerful tool for learning. By nurturing curiosity and allowing children the freedom to explore, we are helping to build the foundations for lifelong learning. There's nothing quite like muddy hands, big smiles and curious minds at work! #the_conker_club #OutdoorLearning #EYFS #LearningThroughPlay #CuriousMinds #EarlyYears #SchoolLife To find out about our exceptional village school visit our website www.mortoncofeprimary.co.uk

Phonics at Our School! At our school, we believe strong reading starts with strong foundations and phonics is at the heart of it! We follow the Read Write Inc. phonics programme. Our children are busy exploring sounds, blending words, and growing in confidence every single day. From lively smallgroup sessions to handson activities that make learning fun, phonics helps our pupils become skilled, enthusiastic readers. We're so proud of the progress they're making and the smiles that come with it! In summer 2025, 95% of our Year 1 children passed the phonics screening test.
