We Respect:
- Our values of ‘respect, achieve, enjoy and believe’ shine through at our friendly and inclusive school. Pupils know and understand these values.
- Positive relationships underpin this school, enriched by the reciprocal relationships with the local church and community. Consequently, Morton serves, and is served by its community, enabling all to flourish through a culture of generosity, care and love. SIAMS 2024
- Parents are overwhelmingly positive about the impact this school has on their children. OFSTED 2025
- Pupils have positive relationships with each other and the staff. Pupils have very strong attitudes to learning and their behaviour is impeccable. OFSTED 2025
- Pupil’s personal development is a strength. We have strong links with the local community. Pupils live out the school’s vision of serving others through a range of roles of responsibility and leadership. SIAMS 2024
We Achieve:
- We provide our pupils with a stimulating and well-thought-through curriculum and are proud of our robust and consistent teaching approaches across the school.
- Children in the early years have an exceptional start to their school life. Routines and expectations are quickly established. Children, including those in the nursery, learn effectively from the vast range of high-quality activities available. The environment enables children to be fully immersed in early number and early language opportunities. As a result, children develop their curiosity and deepen their thinking. OFSTED 2025
- In our recent OFSTED: One pupil, who shares the views of many, explained, ‘teachers get our activities just right. We get to think hard, but not too hard.’ Lessons are tailored to meet the needs of all pupils, and activities stimulate pupils’ curiosity. As a result, pupils achieve exceptionally well. OFSTED 2025
- Standards in Year 6 are in the top 10% of all school's nationally in many areas of the assessed curriculum.
- The curriculum encourages pupils to flourish in their learning and to use knowledge wisely. This reflects the school’s vision of achieving anything in life’s journey. The ambitious curriculum is supported in its development by the trust and focusses on growing the talents of each pupil.
We Enjoy:
- Pupils told me that this is a friendly school where everyone feels welcomed. They enjoy their learning. Pupils told me that, ‘they learn in a fun way,’ and that, ‘teachers are really good at helping you learn things in different ways’. They spoke with enthusiasm about the exciting visits and learning activities that the school provides. OFSTED 2019
- Children in both the Little Owls nursery and the Reception class get off to a good start.
- We embrace enrichment opportunities such as school trips to local farm parks, PGL, the pantomime and a vast amount of sporting opportunities.
- Pupils told me that they feel safe in school. They report that bullying is rare and they were confident that adults would sort it out quickly when it did occur. They are taught about e-safety and spoke confidently to me about how to stay safe online. OFSTED 2019
We Believe:
- The school’s personal development programme prepares pupils very well for life in modern Britain. Pupils understand a range of ways to keep themselves safe, both physically and mentally. The recent work on ‘broadening horizons’ has supported pupils to have an extensive understanding of a range of faiths and cultures. Pupils learn how to challenge stereotypes and treat each other with respect. Pupils understand and demonstrate the fundamental British values across the school. OFSTED 2025
- Collective worship has a significant impact on the school's ethos, especially on the positive relationships that arise as a consequence. This is because worship is framed in a joyful and engaging experience. SIAMS 2024
- Spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is promoted well. Respect for different cultures and religions is fostered through visits to different places of worship, visitors to school and through the wider curriculum. OFSTED 2019
